Interactive Visit For Preschools And Elementary Schools
(Duration: approx. 1h)
What does it really mean to be an artist? For our young Marc it was an almost fantastic word; he had heard it being uttered, but not in his city! There, nobody had any idea of what it meant to be a painter. Marc soon understood that no school could teach him what he could learn by observing the world and visiting museums instead. Even when he finds himself far from home in Paris, Moscow, Berlin and in distant America, all he had to do was open his box of memories, transforming them into drawings, to find his world once again. A world that we will discover together, between color and magic! At the end of the itinerary we will provide a folder with in-depth information and post-exhibition activities.
Visit For Secondary Schools And High Schools
(Duration: approx. 75 min)
The works of Chagall take on the semblance of a window through which the artist flees to escape into another world. An escape that becomes necessary when the inner world takes on a realness that the artist did not think belonged to the visible world. The sheet of paper is an infinite space and the line, so light and agile, guides the artist in filling it up and loading it with meaning. We direct our gaze in order to understand childhood and maturity, the Jewish and Russian component and French elements in a unique art; an art animated by the breath of the artist where prayer, sadness, salvation and rebirth shine through. At the end of the itinerary we will provide a folder with in-depth information and reference bibliography.
